Part of me feels like except for a new hair cut, not all that much changed for me over the course of the year. However, I also know that is not the case. The process of living life continues to mold us and grow us and make us better prepared to deal with what is to come next. So I know that I am a different person today than the person who started this project a year ago. Regardless, this process did capture the ups and downs inherent in a year and was there were lots of happy times and a few sad times as well.
I think the most striking changes over the last year can obviously be seen in Elliott's set. He went from a four month old baby to a sixteen month toddler. I think of all the firsts that have happened in one short year and it is staggering to me. Ever day we are learning more and more about him and the person he is gradually becoming. He is such an amazing kid and I am thrilled at the prospect of all the changes to come in the next year!
I think the "other" set is definitely the most diverse when it comes to content. Sometimes it was beautiful things that captured my attention that week, and other times it was just some crazy thing that was going down (the flood immediately comes to mind ;) And by looking back at these pictures I am reminded of all the things we did and saw in the last year. This is especially nice for those little moments that blip by in the course of a year.
Now, finally, and I really can't help but mentioning this, but did you know that I can tell how many people actually click through to look at my photos? I can. So if ever a photo seemed strange or you didn't have any idea of what was going on, there was usually an explanation...that you didn't read ;) I kid, I kid!...but its still true ;)
